Thanks for the promotion of CWIN. The magazine has seen better days because my work schedule has been from the Abyss. I am going to make an honest effort to get the schedule back to a monthly release in 2008.
You might want to look at my Web site because it has links to a few Car Wars resources on the Internet you may not know about.
Between CWIN, SWAT and WADA, Mr. Owen has a mind-numbing amount of Car Wars goodness to keep autoduellists occupied. Myself, I just found out about "Cornell Car Wars" and I'm itching to give it a spin (find the link in CWIN Vol. 6, No. 4).
One piece of advice to readers; if you hit a dead link, there's a decent chance the Internet Archive caught it. So thanks to Mr. Owen for keeping long-rotted links on the sites, 'cause they're not really dead.
I feel badly SWAT HQ has not been updated regularly this past year and CWIN publication frequency looks like the aftermath of an ARF attack. I am hoping to make a New Year's Resolution with more frequent Web updates and issues.
I decided a long time ago to not maintain the links in issues of CWIN. Instead I try to keep the links on the SWAT HQ current. Most but not all of the links in CWIN that work are placed on SWAT HQ.
Thank you for mentioning the Internet Archive trick for capturing old Car Wars data. If you or any other autoduelist is interested in offline information and the Internet Archive does not have it, drop me a line. My archives of Car Wars information are vast.
The SWAT information vaults have the entire Web site of the Iowa Underground, a Web site that may be useful to your Iowa-based WADA chapter.
